AKA 'THE Mall' , 'THAT mall' or often 'West Ed'
Most Edmontonians mock it, tourists travel half-way around the world to visit it, but how many of us know the retail outlets currently inhabiting the city known as "WEM"? This Christmas shopping season will see many frustrated dollar-droppers mooing and shoving their way along, like impatient bovines eager for a milking.
I remember my first experience with the WEM behemoth, I got lost. I quickly realized that the name of the West Edmonton Mall was actually, "the Mall" or "West ED". Nobody living here actually calls it "West Edmonton Mall", no, that's just too much work. After working in 'the Mall' for a couple years I learned it's layout and how to speak it's language. I now feel confident that I can communicate with the native WEMers and know their customs well.
There are a few new or interesting places in WEM I would recommend checking out.
DeSerres
